Kanpur’s healthcare infrastructure has received a major boost with Regency Health launching a new 475-bed facility at its Sarvodaya Nagar complex. Spread across approximately 4 lakh sq. ft., the new tower takes the combined capacity of Regency’s Sarvodaya Nagar campus to 775 beds, making it one of the largest private healthcare complexes in Kanpur.
The expansion also takes Regency Health’s overall capacity to more than 1,400 beds across nine healthcare facilities in major cities across Uttar Pradesh making it the largest private hospital in UP.
Advanced Treatment, Closer to Home The expansion is significant not simply because of the number of beds being added, but because it brings a wider range of super speciality and tertiary care services, advanced medical technology and specialist expertise together at one location. For patients in Kanpur and nearby districts, that could mean greater access to complex treatments without having to travel to larger metros. With the new expansion, the hospital will offer advanced medical technologies like the Da Vinci X Robotic Surgical System, an advanced DSA Lab for neuro-intervention, LINAC Halcyon radiotherapy, Gamma Camera and 3 Tesla MRI.
The expanded healthcare complex brings together more than 200 specialists trained in India and around the world, covering 33+ specialities.
The hospital’s multi and super speciality services span Cardiac Sciences, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, Oncology, Neurosciences, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Renal Sciences, Nephrology, Urology, Gastro Sciences, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement, Spine Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Neonatology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Radiology, Pathology, Emergency and Trauma Care, among other clinical disciplines.
The critical care setup includes single-bed ICUs and dedicated six-bed ICU units for focused monitoring. The complex will also have parking for more than 300 vehicles and a 100-seat auditorium.
It will include six-bed wards, fully automated patient suites, dedicated seating areas and a 100-bed night-stay facility for families. Priority OPDs and speciality-specific OPDs will support focused outpatient care, while the Regency MyCare app will allow patients to book appointments and access online reports.
The new facility also adds nine advanced modular operation theatres and more than 110 ICU beds. With the existing infrastructure, the Sarvodaya Nagar complex will now have 18 modular operation theatres and more than 200 ICU beds. This range allows patients with complex conditions to access multiple specialists and supporting services within the same healthcare ecosystem.
For Kanpur residents, this means a wider range of specialised and super-speciality care can potentially be coordinated within a single healthcare ecosystem, reducing the need to manage complex treatments across multiple hospitals or cities.
Another important aspect of the expansion is that it is not focused solely on medical infrastructure. The facility has also been designed around the everyday needs of patients and their families.
The significance of the expansion goes beyond the size of the building or the number of beds. Kanpur is a major healthcare hub not only for the city but also for neighbouring towns and rural communities. A larger integrated facility with advanced technology and multiple specialities can strengthen access to tertiary and super-speciality care closer to home.
With this expansion, Regency Health is positioning its Sarvodaya Nagar complex as a major healthcare destination for Kanpur and the wider region, bringing together more beds, advanced technology, specialised doctors and family-focused facilities under one roof.
