In a major boost for air connectivity in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, IndiGo Airlines is gearing up to launch a new direct flight service between Kanpur and Navi Mumbai, scheduled to begin by the end of January 2026. 

This move will connect two important commercial and travel hubs directly, significantly reducing the travel time and offering a convenient option for business and leisure flyers.

There is now just one IndiGo flight per day from Kanpur to Mumbai, hence travellers going to Navi Mumbai have to go through Mumbai. This additional flight will bring Kanpur Airport's total number of flights to five.

New flights to Ahmedabad, Pune, and Kolkata are also being discussed. It is anticipated that flights to Ahmedabad and Pune would start in February. These flights' schedules will be made public shortly.

The new Kanpur – Navi Mumbai route is anticipated to become one of the most useful regional connections in northern and western India. With Navi Mumbai Airport expanding services and IndiGo actively building its route network from the new facility, this launch aligns with broader industry trends focusing on decentralizing travel from congested legacy hubs.
