Big news for commuters and travelers in Uttar Pradesh—the much-awaited 63-km Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway is finally set to open on April 28, 2026, promising to cut down travel time between Lucknow and Kanpur to just 35 minutes.
For anyone who has endured the long, traffic-heavy journey between these two major cities, this expressway is nothing short of a game changer.
Designed for speed, efficiency, and seamless connectivity, the Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway is built to ease congestion on existing routes while offering a smoother driving experience. This project is part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader push toward upgrading its road network and boosting regional connectivity.
Toll Structure:
For the new motorway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has established a comprehensive toll structure that offers different charges depending on the kind of route and vehicle classification:
- Drivers of private vehicles, such as sedans, Jeeps, or SUVs, will pay ₹275 for a single trip and ₹415 for a 24-hour return trip.
- Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) will pay ₹670 for a round-trip ticket and ₹445 for a one-way passage.
- A one-way tax of 935 and a return fee of 1,405 will apply to heavier transportation, such as buses and trucks.
- Lastly, the toll for Heavy Construction Machinery (HCM) is ₹1,020 for a single trip and ₹1,530 on the return.
