The Kanpur Chief Minister Global Novodaya Yojana (Urban Services and Infrastructure Development Project) has been formulated for the greater development of Kanpur city. Under this scheme, three projects have now been taken up including a women’s market in Swaroop Nagar.

Earlier, a proposal to construct the Jagran auditorium on the vacant land for Mahila Market in Ghantaghar area situated in Swaroop Nagar was passed. But this scheme was stalled due to lack of funds. Now, it is being included in the Chief Minister’s Global Novodaya Yojana.

Similarly, a project was prepared to build a women’s market in 49 hundred square meters of Swaroop Nagar Ghantaghar through municipal bonds. Rs. 3 crore was to be taken for this. Due to the plan being shelved, the project got locked in the files. Now again, the closed files have been taken out and the project is expected to start soon.

Not just a women’s market, under this project, an auditorium for one thousand people will be constructed in Babupurwa and a digital library in Brahmanagar. The plan for these three projects will be prepared within a week and will be sent to the government for approval. It is a great step towards improving the infrastructure and facilities in the city.
