With its origins in India, the Jagran Film Festival is the biggest travelling film festival in the world. The festival was founded in 2010 as a project of the Jagran Prakashan Group with the goal of promoting an appreciation of cinematic art in India's main cities.
JFF promotes a cinematic culture and provides a platform for filmmakers and moviegoers to interact and explore the world of cinema. Viewers have the chance to engage with both national and international actors and crew, hear their conversations, and take part in a Q&A session.
JFF is well known for its wide distribution, reaching 18 cities, including major metropolises like Delhi and Mumbai, as well as smaller towns like Hisar, Gorakhpur, Indore, Prayagraj, Darbhanga, Varanasi, Siliguri, Agra, and Meerut. Other cities include Lucknow, Kanpur, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Dehradun, and Ludhiana. The festival has gained notoriety as a true celebration of film because of its innovative approach of bringing it to the public.
They recognise filmmakers and artists for their exceptional work and accomplishments in their respective cinematic professions with awards and cash prizes on the award night at TinselTown Mumbai, which is judged by one of the top panels of judges across a number of categories.
