With this spirit, in order to enhance the opportunities related to sports in Kanpur and increase physical health awareness among citizens, Kanpur Nagar Nigam has organised a futsal tournament which is now open for all!
The Kanpur Nagar Nigam Futsal Tournament will be held from May 14 - May 17. Many teams have already registered and now, participation is open for all.
This brand new futsal ground has been made by Smart City Kanpur Limited and Kanpur Nagar Nigam. As per Municipal Commissioner, Shri Shivasharanappa, it has been constructed as per FIFA certified standards. The facilities and quality of the ground speak for itself, making it a one of its kind and an important avenue for the residents of the city to play a lesser known about sport and channel their energy into something constructive.
A football-based game, futsal is primarily played on a hardcourt similar to a basketball court, but smaller than a football pitch. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper.
Kanpur Nagar Nigam and Smart City Kanpur Project aim to make Kanpur a hub for national and international sports matches with the city’s top notch and certified sports infrastructure. This is another crucial step towards the same.
