Kanpur is set to witness a powerful confluence of youth leadership and grassroots culture as Yi Students Parliament 1.0 – Regional Round comes to the city alongside Kalagram – A Rural Mela.
The Yi Students Parliament is a first-of-its-kind youth civic simulation designed to immerse the next generation in the workings of democratic governance. Over 150+ school students from more than 6 cities in North India will step into the shoes of Members of Parliament, taking on roles in ruling and opposition parties.
They will form parties, draft bills, and debate real national and regional issues, giving them an authentic, hands-on experience of parliamentary procedures. This simulation aims to build critical thinking, leadership skills, and civic responsibility, empowering students to become active contributors to India’s future.
Running parallel to the Students Parliament is Kalagram, a vibrant celebration of India’s rural entrepreneurial spirit. Over 50+ women artisans and entrepreneurs will present their traditional crafts, handmade products, and sustainable innovations.
The combination of youth-led policy discussions and rural entrepreneurship showcases makes this event truly unique. While the Students Parliament shapes future leaders, Kalagram uplifts grassroots talent and connects rural artisans with wider markets.
