The city of Kanpur is set to celebrate its first-ever Laddoo Bazaar on December 11, 2025, at the campus of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (often abbreviated CSA). The initiative — led by the district administration — aims to revive and celebrate traditional winter sweets deeply rooted in the region’s culinary heritage.
According to local officials, the Laddu Bazaar is more than just a food market: it is meant as a celebration of seasonal traditions that are both culturally rich and nutritionally beneficial.
The bazaar will focus on showcasing homemade laddoos — prepared by women, self-help groups, and home-food experts — made using traditional ingredients like sesame, jaggery, dry fruits, and millets such as bajra and ragi.
