
IIT Kanpur hosted its much-awaited ‘Samanvay’ Industry–Academia Engagement Program on 3rd September 2025, where Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The program marked a significant step in fostering collaboration between the academic ecosystem of IIT Kanpur and the rapidly evolving industrial landscape of the state and the nation.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi emphasized the role of innovation, research, and start-ups in transforming Uttar Pradesh into an economic powerhouse. He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, skill development, and industrial growth, assuring that initiatives like Samanvay will act as vital bridges between young talent and industry leaders.
The Chief Minister added, speaking to students, and business executives, that industry-academia collaboration now goes well beyond research and innovation. Speaking about the event's main topics, Yogi stated that talks on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and sustainability would not only increase India's independence but also open the door for the nation to become a global centre for development and technology.
The Chief Minister highlighted IIT Kanpur's involvement in developing new technology, such as drone innovation, and commended the institution's efforts during the last 60 years.
Noting that the state assembly was the first in the nation to hold a special 36-hour session to debate strategies for accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the chief minister emphasised Uttar Pradesh's innovative role in the SDGs.
With CM Yogi’s presence, Samanvay 2025 not only celebrated the synergy of knowledge and enterprise but also laid down a roadmap for Uttar Pradesh’s journey toward becoming a global hub for innovation and industry-academia partnerships.
