Kanpur is set to witness a major leap in healthcare infrastructure as Hallett (LLR) Hospital, affiliated with GSVM Medical College, prepares to launch a state-of-the-art surgery block equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and modern robotic technology. The ambitious project aims to transform surgical care for patients across Kanpur and neighboring districts, reducing the need to travel to larger medical centers for advanced treatment.
The new three-storey surgical block, being developed at an estimated cost of ₹19.5 crore, is expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capabilities in handling complex and critical medical procedures.
Once operational, Hallett Hospital will become the first healthcare facility in Kanpur to offer AI-assisted and robotic surgeries for several serious and complicated conditions. These include procedures related to:
Gastrointestinal (stomach and digestive system) disorders
Liver diseases and surgeries
Kidney-related treatments
Chest and thoracic surgeries
Complex surgical procedures for newborns
The development is expected to provide significant relief to patients and families who currently travel to Lucknow’s specialized institutes for advanced surgical treatment.

The new surgery block will be directly connected to the existing Super Speciality Block, ensuring seamless movement of patients, doctors, and critical care services.

The project is expected to strengthen medical education at GSVM Medical College. Undergraduate and postgraduate students will gain hands-on experience with advanced medical equipment, AI-assisted surgical systems, and modern operating procedures.
