On May 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to travel to Kanpur to officially launch and lay the groundwork for a number of development projects totalling several thousand crores.

- The inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for five units of the Khurja, Obra, and Jawaharpur Thermal Power Plants will be a major highlight of the PM's visit to Kanpur. The state's electrical infrastructure will be greatly improved by all of the power projects.

- The PM is expected to address a public rally at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) ground. On May 28, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the location on-site and worked with senior authorities to assess its preparedness for the Prime Minister's visit.

- The opening of a significant portion of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project will be another highlight of the PM's visit. At a cost of more than Rs 2,120 crore, the recently finished stretch from Chunniganj Metro Station to Kanpur Central Metro Station includes five freshly constructed underground stations in addition to 14 planned stations.

- The opening of the 660 MW Panki Thermal Power Extension Project in Kanpur will mark a significant turning point in the power production industry. The project, which was constructed at a cost of around Rs 8,300 crore, is expected to be vital to increasing the state's energy capacity.

Traffic updates from 4pm to 8pm are as follows:

1. Vehicles coming from Ganga Barrage will not be able to go towards Karbala.

2. Rawatpur would not be accessible to heavy vehicles travelling from Kalyanpur.

3. Roads via Rawatpur, Phoolbagh, Gumti, Chhapera, and Tatamill will continue to be closed.

4. Other routes will be used for vehicles travelling to Company Bagh, Arya Nagar, and VIP Road.
