NHAI Gets Approval To Build Flyover For 144 Cr That Will Connect Kanpur And Gwalior

For two flyover projects on Kanpur Road, the NHAI has begun the tender process. The projects are projected to be around 144 crore. The Indian Army and the Airport Authority of India objected, bringing the project to a complete halt for eighteen years.

A three-layer flyover at the intersection connecting Gwalior and Shivpuri Road to Kanpur Road is one of these two projects. It is notable that there is a lot of traffic at the aforementioned intersection. It is anticipated that this issue would be resolved after the new bridge on Kanpur Road is finished.

As the flyover approached the army airport runway in 2006, the AAI voiced concerns about its original plan. The project was able to restart when the Army approved a redesigned design following years of negotiations.

Kochhabhanwar and Medical Tiraha would be connected by the second flyover, which will span a kilometre. The traffic jam at the Medical College Intersection should also be resolved by this bridge. Kanpur Road is one of the busiest highways in Uttar Pradesh, and both of these flyovers would facilitate better traffic flow.
