Pink autos will soon be driven within the city limits by Kanpur Metro. For this, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has also stepped up its preparations. Pink autos will soon be spotted driving out of the metro station.
In an interview, UPMRC MD Sushil Kumar stated that the metro would be launching this service for the first time. After exiting the metro station, women will be able to ride in pink vehicles to their homes and workplaces in safety.
The MD says that Pink Auto operations will begin shortly. Women will also be in charge of Pink Auto operations to make women feel secure when travelling. CCTV is going to be used to monitor Pink Auto.
Metro sources estimate that each station will have roughly 10 pink automobiles deployed. In these, only women will be able to travel. Additionally, women will be permitted to ride in pink vehicles and get to the station.
In the event of an emergency, passengers can press the button to request assistance. When you click this button, an ambulance-like alert will sound. Additionally, it will be linked to the police control room. Using the built-in microphone, female travellers can also request assistance.
Police will also verify women drivers operating pink cars to ensure a safe trip. The fare will be paid on a per-kilometer basis. The rate for this will be determined by Metro.
