The National Highway Authority's (NHAI) Project Director, Saurabh Chaurasia, has announced that the inauguration programme will take place on 11th March afternoon at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. At this point, traffic on the Outer Ring Road will begin to move. Its benefits would be available to residents of Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Sitapur, Gonda, Hardoi, Kanpur, Varanasi, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, and other districts. They won't need to travel through the city to get where they're going.

In 2016, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh laid the Outer Ring Road's foundation stone. Outer Ring Road is one of the dream projects of Rajnath Singh.

On February 20, Lucknow MP and defence minister Rajnath Singh conducted an inspection of the Outer Ring Road. He had instructed them to finish the work as soon as possible at this time. It was informed that the Prime Minister would then officially open it. Additionally, he had declared that the Outer Ring Road would be free of tolls.
