Tarun Gupta, the dean of research and development at IIT Kanpur, and Kyungyun Roo, the managing director of SRI-Noida, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU), which lays out the parameters for cooperative research projects aimed at addressing industrial difficulties and matching market demands.

IIT Kanpur Director, S Ganesh underlined the practical atmosphere that this partnership seeks to establish for innovative projects, providing beneficial chances for scholars and students. He said, “By combining the academic excellence of IIT Kanpur with the industry expertise of Samsung India, we aim to create an environment for projects and opportunities that bridge the gap between academia and industry.”

The MoU includes provisions for Samsung engineers to have opportunities for upskilling beyond research initiatives. IIT Kanpur will be conducting specific training programmes in a variety of fields, giving Samsung engineers access to the institute's expertise and enabling them to pursue degree programmes, certificates, and specialised courses designed to advance their knowledge and abilities.
