Pooja Gupta, the founder of Amiraah Stores in Kanpur has been responsible for bringing the collections of so many high end luxury designers to town. Navigating through her roles of being an interior designer, fashion entrepreneur, art curator and a mom, we at Kanpurwants asked her about the challenges of being a devoted mother while having a successful career.

Q. Would you rather be called a ‘working mother’ or a working parent considering we don’t label men as ‘working dads’?
A. Working mother
Q. Are there any skills you picked up from being a mother that have translated into becoming a better businesswoman?
A. Patience
Q. What do you find most challenging about being a mom-preneur ?
A. Being a mom-preneur can be extremely rewarding but balancing the demands of running a business while being present for your family can be overwhelming. Juggling meetings, deadlines and childcare responsibilities can be a constant challenge.
Q. What is the best parenting advice to give to mothers in business?
A. Focus on quality over quantity make each moment special.
Q. Do you ever feel the working mother’s guilt? How do you draw a line between that and being a goal driven businesswoman?
A. Yes I do! But then I understood that feeling guilty is normal. Just know that you're doing your best for your family is the most important.
Q. What qualities of yours would you like your children to imbibe?
A. Never give up in life is my mantra which I want him to imbibe.
