The first Vande Bharat Metro coaches were unveiled by Punjab's Kapurthala factory, marking a significant milestone and the beginning of a new era in Indian rail development. These trains, whose testing is scheduled for July, offer 100–250 km of range and an extensible layout for efficient travel. The first plans call for 50 trains, with the capacity to expand to 400, to link important cities. Increased speeds and sleeper variations are two further improvements that point to a radical change in the Indian rail network.
Agra-Mathura, Tirupati-Chennai, and Lucknow-Kanpur are the routes that have been identified for the Vande Metro, providing passengers with quick and easy transit alternatives. The Vande Metro trains are intended to serve the needs of general category passengers, particularly those who commute on a daily basis. They are equipped with big automatic doors, spacious cabins, and fast acceleration capabilities.
