On December 10, former President Ram Nath Kovind along with his wife Savita Kovind arrived at Chakeri Airport. He will be in the city for 3 days. From 2017 to 2022, Indian politician and attorney Ram Nath Kovind presided as the country's 14th president. He is the first Uttar Pradeshi to hold the office of President of India.
On behalf of the state government, Asim Arun, Minister of Independent Charge, greeted him at the airport. He asked the officials about the city's ongoing development projects. In particular, he enquired as to when the Circuit House's new structure would be completed and which brand-new initiatives the city is launching.
He was the chief guest during the JK Group's 140th anniversary celebrations on December 11. On December 12, he will depart for Paraunkh, where he will take part in the Sarvodaya Girls School foundation stone laying event.
In view of his visit, the police and local authorities started making security plans and are putting more stringent measures in place near the Circuit House. The former president also spoke with District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh and Divisional Commissioner Amit Gupta about beautifying and facilitating the city. He also discussed ways to improve the city's traffic with Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar.
