General Elections 2024 Dates Announced, Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Polling In Kanpur

Even since the phase-wise dates of general elections 2024 have been announced by the Election Commission of India, the election bugle is blowing loud. In regard to Kanpur, all preparations have been completed. The elections will take place in seven phases out of which the residents of Kanpur will cast their vote in the fourth phase on May 13.

For the Kanpur seat, 35.76 lakh voters of ten assemblies cast their votes. Therefore, a total of 19.11 lakh male voters, 16.65 lakh female voters and 203 transgender voters will vote in the election. The vote counting will happen on June 4.

There are five assembly seats under the Kanpur parliamentary seat. These include Govind Nagar, Sisamau, Arya Nagar, Kidwai Nagar and Kanpur Cantt. As of now, two of these are held by Samajwadi Party, two by BJP and one by Congress.

The Kanpur parliamentary constituency is one of the 80 Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, Satyadev Pachauri is the current MP of the city, from the BJP, who won the Kanpur constituency in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 with a landslide victory.
