In a remarkable step towards nurturing India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of IIT Kanpur has launched UpStart 2025 — the latest edition of its flagship national startup pitching competition.
The initiative aims to identify, mentor, and empower the most promising startup innovators from across the country, giving them a platform to transform ideas into investable ventures.
The launch of UpStart 2025 kicked off with its Delhi–NCR regional round, where 23 startups presented their ideas across sectors like fintech, healthtech, deep tech, Web3, agritech, and cybersecurity. Each team pitched to a panel of investors, mentors, and industry experts, marking the beginning of an extensive nationwide journey that will span multiple cities.
The Delhi-NCR event is the first of a planned statewide series that would culminate on January 25, 2026, at IIT Kanpur with additional editions scheduled in Hyderabad (November 1), Bengaluru (November 8), and Mumbai (December 6). Each round will shortlist the top performers for a four-week mentorship bootcamp, helping them refine their ideas before the final showcase at IIT Kanpur.
