IIT Kanpur Offers Life-Saving CPR Training To Strengthen The Campus Community!

The IIT Kanpur Health Centre has been offering the campus community a certified CPR Workshop/Demonstration Course in partnership with the NGO Pranodaya. Over 400 people have already received training from these courses, which are designed to give people life-saving skills. The participants include staff members, instructors, students, and security guards.

Important subjects including Basic Life Support (BLS), Primary Trauma Care, and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are covered in the extensive curriculum. After completing the course, participants will be receiving a practical instruction and a certificate.

An expert group of medical professionals, including Dr. Sunit Gupta (Sqr. Ldr.), an MD-holding anesthesiologist and intensivist from AFMC Pune; Dr. Pradeep Tandon, an MS Mch plastic and cosmetic surgeon from Delhi; and Dr. A. K. Agarwal, an MS ENT surgeon from Kanpur, led the workshops.

The Health Centre team that is participating in the CPR training programme consists of Dr. Shailendra Kishore, a senior medical officer, Dr. Mamta Vyas, the head of the Health Centre, and Dr. Rakesh Mishra. The team at the Health Centre at IIT Kanpur is committed to extending the reach of CPR training and equipping people with vital life-saving skills, all while prioritising the well-being of the community.
