
Great news for Kanpur! Another significant accomplishment has been made by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. The "National Intellectual Property Award 2024" has been given to the institute. This honour was granted in recognition of exceptional contributions made by educational institutions in the areas of patents and intellectual property.
In a lavish event held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, this honour was presented. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, was also in attendance at the time. On behalf of the institute, Prof. Manindra Agarwal, Director of IIT Kanpur, accepted this honour. He was accompanied by Anshu Singh, Research Establishment Officer at the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre.
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) also presented IIT Kanpur with the "WIPO National Award" on this occasion. Institutions that significantly advance innovation and intellectual property are recognised with this prize.
Director Prof. Manindra Agarwal conveyed his joy at the recognition and added, "This national award is a testament to our efforts."
