Kanpur residents are set to benefit from improved air connectivity as Indigo Airlines gears up to launch direct flights to Hyderabad. The airline has initiated the process by submitting a proposal to the Kanpur Airport Authority.
According to officials, the much-awaited direct service is scheduled to commence on October 2, 2024, operating four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. An aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats will be deployed on this route.
The introduction of this new flight route comes in response to long-standing demands from Kanpur's diverse population, including professionals, entrepreneurs, and business travelers. The city currently offers direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
This development marks a significant milestone for Kanpur's aviation sector and is expected to boost economic growth and tourism in the region.
