With trains now arriving at Kanpur Central Station every 14 to 16 minutes, Kanpur residents can anticipate improved metro connectivity. This upgrade is a component of the Kanpur Metro's most recent extension, which now links Kanpur Central Station and IIT Kanpur. The underground section contains five new stations: Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha, Nayaganj, and Kanpur Central, bringing the total number of metro stations in the city to 14.

The trip from IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Central now takes only 14 minutes thanks to the new metro line, providing a quick and reasonably priced transit option. With a fare maximum of ₹40, it's a cost-effective option for everyday passengers.

This development greatly improves urban mobility by offering a quicker and more practical option to driving, particularly for everyday commuters, office workers, and students. It is anticipated that the metro's regularity and punctuality will reduce traffic and encourage Kanpur residents to take public transit.

The Metro is getting ready to provide the train service to the entire public the day after the inauguration. The train will begin accepting passengers on May 31 after inauguration on 30th May.
