With the implementation of new rules, the city's e-rickshaw-related trouble will be managed. Companies have been selected by the Kanpur Municipal Corporation to provide mobile apps, QR codes, and web applications that will oversee e-rickshaw operations throughout the city. The required software will be available by March, at which point all e-rickshaws will be registered.

QR Codes For E-Rickshaws:

A QR code will be allocated to each e-rickshaw and attached to the vehicle. Information on the owner, driver, registration number, address, and routes the e-rickshaws travel will all be included in the mobile app. With this method, it will be simple to monitor the e-rickshaws' routes.

30 E-Rickshaw routes have already been established by the traffic department. Following registration, an Integrated Traffic Management System will be used to keep an eye on the e-rickshaws. Cameras will detect and penalise e-rickshaws that violate traffic laws online.

DID YOU KNOW?

In Kanpur, there are currently about 90,000 e-rickshaws in use, but only 40,000 of them are registered. As part of the registration procedure, each e-rickshaw will now be assigned a designated route, and any vehicle discovered to be operating outside of the authorised routes will be subject to enforcement. Three distinct software programs are being created for this procedure.

Sudhir Kumar, the municipal commissioner, has directed that the entire procedure be finished as soon as feasible.
