Air pollution is one problem with which the city has been struggling for a while. But now, there seems to be some good news. From topping the charts in the country in terms of air pollution to the levels dropping down drastically, the concerned bodies have come a long way in making Kanpur a better place for residents.

The Environment Ministry released an air quality report recently with 95 cities in the country that have shown improvement. And guess what! The air quality of Kanpur has improved by a major 40%.

The Environment Ministry claims that in many parts of the country, the air has become much cleaner than before. According to the report, the improvement in air quality in cities like Agra, Kanpur, Khurja, Kohima, Bareilly, Dehradun, Dhanbad and Greater Mumbai has been over 40%. With the campaign launched in 131 cities to improve air quality, this percentage is expected to go higher.

Cities where up to 40% improvement in air quality has been seen are Silchar, Vijaywada, Naya Nangal, Dimapur, Baghi and Jodhpur. As compared to before, air quality in 95 cities has improved.
