Automated Intelligence Machine Guided Construction (AIMGC) technology, a cutting-edge method previously solely employed in the US and Germany, is being used to build the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway.

This is the first time such state-of-the-art technology has been used in the road construction industry in India. The system makes sure that building supplies are used in precisely the right amount and quality, and it promptly notifies authorities of any inconsistency.

Using AIMGC, GPS, and 3D technologies, a 45 km greenfield segment between Bani and Kanpur is being created out of the entire 63 kilometre stretch in order to create a smoother, more durable expressway.

The road surface will be perfectly level thanks to this high-precision method, which will also greatly increase longevity. This highway, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore, would be the shortest in India but also one of the best in terms of construction quality. NHAI executives travelled to Los Angeles to examine American motorway models before the project began.

Trimble, a US-based company, is helping to build the greenfield segment. GPS-enabled devices that are in sync with 3D models have been installed on construction equipment, enabling continuous material layer monitoring and guaranteeing accuracy in operation.

Additionally, the system indicates the locations of necessary cuts and underpasses. This highway should not sustain any damage for at least a decade, according to NHAI Regional Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia.
