The first Cyber Commando Training Program has been successfully inaugurated by IIT Kanpur's C3iHub in partnership with the Ministry of Home Affairs' Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).
The IIT Kanpur Noida Outreach Centre hosted the six-month residential Cyber Commando Training Program's valedictory event, which marked the end of a demanding training program designed to increase law enforcement agencies' specialised cybersecurity capabilities. Important dignitaries such as Mr. Ashutosh Bahuguna (Scientist, CERT-In), Ms. Tilotamma Varma, IPS (Director General, Lucknow), Col. Arvind Kumar (Director-NCTC, I4C), and Shri Rajesh Kumar (CEO, I4C) attended the occasion.
The training, which included subjects including cyber defence, ethical hacking, digital forensics, blockchain, IoT security, and hardware security, involved 36 officers from different State and Central Police Organisations. Expert talks and field trips to companies like CERT-In and Tata Advanced Systems were part of the program. Participants obtained credentials such as Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (#CHFI) and Certified Ethical Hacker (#CEH).
IIT Kanpur Director Prof. Manindra Agrawal emphasised that both innovation and robust cybersecurity are essential to India's digital future. The program's goal is to develop a workforce with the necessary skills to combat cybercrimes and improve cyber resilience. The nation's law enforcement in the digital age is strengthened by the successful completion of this first cohort, which lays a solid platform for subsequent cohorts. Another important factor in the program's success was Prof. Sandeep Shukla, Coordinator of the C3i Centre.
