The Kanpur Cricket Association runs the KPL, a cricket competition with a framework similar to the Indian Premier League. It was the first time in cricket history that a district cricket league with local players was telecast live on Doordarshan and aired throughout the world.
They changed the original slogan from "Khelega Kanpur, Dekhegi Duniya" to "Kanpur Dekhegi Duniya." According to Sanjay Kapoor, the head of the Kanpur Cricket Association, the KCA has signed broadcasting deals with a number of stations in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America, including Pakistan.
Owners of the UP T-20 competition and the Indian Premier League, which is well-known throughout the world, may see local cricket players' performances in this competition, which gives them a stage similar to the IPL.
