UP Tourism entered into a concession arrangement with Redwood Holding & Realty Service Private Limited and Neemrana Hotels Private Limited Rajasthan as part of its endeavours to transform heritage sites into heritage hotels. The state will turn Kanpur's Shukla Talab Baradari into a heritage property through this public-private partnership.

The idea of turning Shukla Talab Baradari into a heritage resort has been raised several times before. But this time, along with other historical sites, UP Tourism is advancing to complete the project. These renovations will be carried out through a public-private collaboration using the adaptive reuse concept, according to Tourism Director Prakhar Mishra. This will make it possible for visitors to further experience local culture, art, food, and ODOP projects.

Akbarbur in the Kanpur Dehat District is home to the Shukla Talab, also known as the Shukla Pond. The Queen of Shahpur and Tantiya Tope established a front against the British in 1857, which witnessed a lot of activity in the area. Today, the site is in ruins, and people spend their evenings strolling around the pond.

Despite its rich history, the location, which includes a baradari next to the ancient Shukla Talab, has long been overlooked. But with this new project, work will be done to restore it and turn it into a heritage resort that will help conservation efforts and give tourists a fully immersed cultural experience.
