In a significant boost to renewable energy in Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has announced the sanctioning of nine solar parks across the state, with a combined capacity of 3,840 MW. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to sustainable energy development and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

Of the total capacity, approximately 430 MW has already been commissioned, while the remaining 3,410 MW of projects are currently under development. Once operational, these solar parks are expected to make a substantial contribution to the state’s green energy output, supporting both environmental sustainability and local economic growth.

The majority of these solar parks are concentrated in the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region, tapping into the area’s high solar potential. One of the key locations is Dibiyapur in Auraiya district, which is set to become a hub for solar power generation in the region.

This move aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s broader renewable energy goals and demonstrates the state’s proactive approach in leveraging solar power to meet growing energy demands while minimizing the carbon footprint. With these projects underway, the state is poised to strengthen its position as a leader in clean energy development in India.
