Through the formation of groups in tiny villages, Anushri Dubey of Kanpur is attempting to get international recognition for women engaged in traditional handicraft production. By conserving the traditional arts of Punjab, Kashmir, Karnataka, and Rajasthan and showcasing their contemporary designs throughout the US and Europe, Anushri is attempting to give women jobs.

Saket Nagar resident Anushri Dubey completed a textile design course at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Bangalore. During her internship, Anushri stated she had the opportunity to meet women who were working in numerous rural locations in groups. She observed that women were not receiving compensation or acknowledgement for the ten to ten hours they spent creating exquisite handcrafted goods.

According to Anushri, she established the Alcove brand in 2017 with the goal of bridging the gap between the disadvantaged and the powerful. The brand offers women a job opportunity by promoting India's traditional handcrafts both domestically and internationally.

She stated that she is involved with around 100 women from various states. They share traditional arts with the business and showcase them in a contemporary manner. Anushri claims that the business has been exhibiting handcrafted goods on a global scale since last September.

There has been a lot of interest from both the US and European nations. She claimed that the most sought-after items overseas are those produced from Kashmir's Kashida embroidery, Lucknow's Chikankari, Punjab's Phulkari, and Zardozi.

In 2024, Anushri received the Nari Samman for her efforts to empower women, and in 2023, the nation's esteemed magazine listed her as one of India's top ten textile designers.
