Kanpur Metro Advances with Eco-Friendly Construction for Baradevi-Naubasta Route

With the use of renewable energy sources, the civil construction work on the 5 kilometre Baradevi-Naubasta elevated segment of Corridor-1 (IIT to Naubasta) of Kanpur Metro is moving forward quickly. Once the roof of the platform and the pre-engineered building (PEB) structure were finished at the Baradevi station, the city's citizens could see the station's outline.

Similar to the priority corridor, the five stations of the Baradevi-Naubasta elevated segment are built to maximise the use of solar energy. By using translucent or transparent sheets, the PEB constructions reduce the need for artificial lighting and save electricity by letting natural sunshine permeate the platforms throughout the day.

Using natural light is made easier by the PEB construction, which lessens the need for artificial lighting during the day. This strategy is in line with Kanpur Metro's resolve to expand its infrastructure using energy-efficient and ecologically friendly methods.

A significant advancement for the Baradevi-Naubasta segment of Kanpur Metro is the completion of the roof for Baradevi station. The project demonstrates its commitment to developing cutting-edge, environmentally responsible transit systems that improve urban connectedness by including sustainable elements like PEB structures.

Construction is still taking place at the other stations, with particular attention being paid to the concourse level technical rooms and PEB structure. In September, the platform levels for the five stations, Baradevi, Kidwai Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Buddha Nagar, and Naubasta, on the Baradevi-elevated segment were cast.
