Hello Sports Enthusiasts! From September 2, the Kanpur Futsal Association will host a district-level futsal championship at the football ground in Central Park Shastri Nagar. The district team will be chosen to compete in the national tournament, which is set to take place in Nasik from September 13–16. The winning team will receive a monetary reward.

Wondering What Futsal Is?

Futsal is a football-based game that is mainly played on a hardcourt that is smaller than a football ground and similar to a basketball court. It is comparable to indoor football and five-a-side football. Two teams of five players each, one of whom serves as the goalie, compete in futsal.

Kanpur Nagar Nigam and Smart City Kanpur Project hopes to establish itself as a centre for national and international sporting events. This is yet another essential step in that direction.

Kanpur Nagar Nigam and Smart City Kanpur Limited created this brand-new futsal pitch. According to Shri Shivasharanappa, the Municipal Commissioner, it was built in accordance with FIFA-certified specifications.
