10 additional animals from Gujarat's Van Tara Zoo were brought to Kanpur Zoological Park on January 21. These consist of two pairs of macaws, four wallabies (small kangaroos), and a pair of zebras (Jasmine and Jimmy). The wallabies were put in the empty enclosure behind the snake house, and the new zebra pair was put in the zebra Aishwarya's habitat, which had been unoccupied for a year.

Ranger Naved Ikram claims that late in the evening of the 20th, representatives from Van Tara transported these creatures to the zoo. All of the animals were moved to their assigned enclosures following a health examination. The 16-person Van Tara team will spend two days here before transporting rhino Gauri to Van Tara.

According to Dr. Anurag Singh, chief veterinary officer, all of the new animals are healthy and under video observation. In addition to the grass in the enclosure, zebras and wallabies are grazing an exclusive grass that was brought from Van Tara. The macaws are settling into their new home in harmony at the aviary where they have been housed.

Visitors to the zoo are excited about the arrival of these animals and are swarming to view the zebras, particularly Jimmy and Jasmine, who have already established themselves as a major attraction.
