The planned trip by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kanpur has been postponed. Despite being nearing completion, the PM's visit has been postponed due to the terrorist assault in Pahalgam.

PM Narendra Modi was supposed to travel to Kanpur on 24th April to officially launch and lay the groundwork for more than Rs 20,000 crore worth of development projects. According to officials, it was considered acceptable to postpone any formal public celebrations or engagements in Kanpur during this time of mourning as a sign of respect.

In order to return to India, PM Modi had skipped the official dinner that Saudi Arabia was hosting as well as other scheduled events.
