Night Curfew Imposed in Kanpur amid Covid 19 Surge

Post the surge in COVID-19 cases after Holi in Kanpur, DM Alok Tewari has issued city-wide night curfew from 10 pm to 6 am, today onwards.

Following Lucknow, Kanpur has become the secondcity in Uttar Pradesh to impose night restrictions.

As many as 302 fresh cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours, while UP saw 6002 positive cases.

Under the orders of the district magistrate, all schools will remain closed till April 15, 2021. The examinations, however, will be conducted following necessary COVID-19 protocols. Movement of essential goods and services will not be hampered, said the district officials.
