FIFA Certified Fusal Ground Now In Kanpur

A football-based game, futsal is primarily played on a hardcourt similar to a basketball court, but smaller than a football pitch. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper.

Futsal is played faster than soccer, allowing for more touches and typically producing bigger scores. It is played without walls or boards and with touchlines serving as limits. Twelve million people play it worldwide in more than 100 nations.

Futsal ground has been constructed by the Municipal Corporation in Shastri Nagar Central Park at a cost of Rs 1.04 crore. On the special occasion of Republic Day on 26th January, a futsal match has been organised which will be played in front of Mayor Pramila Pandey, UP Legislator Surendra Maithani and Kanpur DM.

The trials for the match started on 24th January. The ground monitoring of the Shastri Nagar Central Park was done by Shri Shivasharanappa GN on 23rd January. The Municipal Commissioner said that the futsal ground has been constructed as per FIFA certified standards.
