Prayagraj Jn, Subedarganj, Naini, Prayagraj Cheoki, and Kanpur Central are the five major stations where North Central Railways (NCR) will install "Baby Feeding Pods." Set to begin on January 10th, this facility will offer lactating moms comfort and contemporary conveniences throughout Mahakumbh 2025 and beyond.
According to railway officials, these infant feeding pods are the first in the state and are placed at a few locations throughout the country, including the Akola railway station in Maharashtra, AIIMS in Rishikesh, and Bathinda
1. 4 women can be accommodated in these oval pods. These pods are each 10 feet wide, 5 feet deep, and about 9 feet high. There is enough room for luggage and a second child to sit next to the mother, and the oval form makes it pleasant for moms to sit while nursing and changing.
2. The interior lighting in these pods will be motion-activated, turning off on its own when no one is in the suite. Additionally, there will be two outlets with USB ports for charging gadgets and breast pumps.
3. Additional features include a screen to play movies about feeding and baby care, a mirror for moms to inspect themselves after feeding, and background music for pleasant feeding.
