With the opening of Uttar Pradesh's first specialised footwear park in the Ramaipur region, Kanpur is poised to grow into a major centre for the footwear industry. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has launched this project with the goal of strengthening the state's manufacturing capacity and significantly boosting the local economy.

The park would be 130.403 acres in size and will be ideally located next to the future mega leather cluster in Ramaipur. The production of leather and shoes can be seamlessly integrated thanks to this close proximity. The park will feature 75 industrial plots and two warehouse plots, with land allocation managed through the Nivesh Mitra portal. The application process is fully digitized, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

The industrial park will use a Plug & Play concept, providing plots with basic utilities like roads, water, and electricity. This will cut down on setup time and operating delays, allowing investors to start producing sooner.

The construction of the footwear park is in line with the state's goal of making Uttar Pradesh a trillion-dollar economy by boosting industrial development and giving lakhs of young people jobs.

Taking advantage of Kanpur's longstanding position as a hub for the production of leather goods, the Kanpur Footwear Park is ideally situated to revive the area's leather sector. Uttar Pradesh's leather products would become more globally competitive and operations would be streamlined through the integration with the giant leather cluster.
