Kanpurites, gear up as Kanpur Premier League (KPL), one of India’s largest city based leagues is all set to take place from March 2 – March 5, 2025. The tournament is mentored by BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Indian cricketer Kuldeep Yadav, who also hails from the city is serving as its brand ambassador.

The league brings together some of the biggest names in cricket:

Sanjay Kapoor - KPL Chairman

Rajeev Shukla - Vice President of the BCCI, serving as the league’s mentor.

Kuldeep Yadav - India’s star spinner, as the Brand Ambassador.

Ankit Rajput - Former IPL player, as Co-Brand Ambassador.

Kanpur Premiere League is organized by Kanpur Sports Management Foundation under the Kanpur Cricket Association. It is a T-20 competition which will feature six teams: Mayur Miracles Kalyanpur, Cantt JK Spartans, RLL Ganga Bithoor Legends, Kanpur Prime Indians, Sisamau Super Kings and TSH Blasters Arya Nagar. An auction for the players was held earlier which saw intense bidding with players like Kritigya Singh and Faiz Ahmed taking the highest bid.

The much awaited cricket tournament will provide a platform for young and local cricketers to shine and show their talent on a big platform. This will also boost their chances to bag a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The winning team will take home a cash prize of INR 11 lakhs and individual awards include best batsman, best bowler, best all-rounder and most sixes.
