There is good news for senior adults residing in Kanpur's metropolitan area, Kanpur is now home to the first senior citizen day care centre in Uttar Pradesh.

The Municipal Corporation of Kanpur has developed the vacant space at Tulsi Upvan near Moti Jheel into a senior citizen wellness centre. Where the elderly will have the opportunity to spend their time engaging in various activities. This centre has multipurpose amenities such a café, gym, yoga class, and library. Not only have elderly people's needs been met in this centre, but mentors and coaches will also be available to them. It can accommodate around 30 beds too.

In order to preserve the aesthetic appeal, a 'home away from home' will be provided for the elderly by surrounding the main entrance with lush plants and saplings. The commissioner stated that among other indoor games, the elderly can also enjoy playing ludo, chess, and carrom.
